Seattle University VP to speak at University of Idaho JAMM Awards Reception

MOSCOW, Idaho – Mary Kay McFadden, vice president for advancement at Seattle University, will be the keynote speaker at the University of Idaho School of Journalism and Mass Media’s senior recognition reception on Thursday, April 16.
McFadden, who earned a degree in public relations from the University of Idaho in 1980, will speak in the Great Room of the 1912 Center, 412 E. Third St. in Moscow. The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
“I’m delighted that Mary Kay will share with our students her observations of nearly three decades in higher education,” said Kenton Bird, JAMM director. “Her career illustrates how a University of Idaho graduate can succeed in this field by building on the skills she acquired as a student here.”
At the reception, JAMM faculty members will present awards to outstanding seniors in each of the school’s four degree areas. Bird will recognize faculty members for excellence in teaching and scholarship.
McFadden has been Seattle University’s vice president for university advancement for the past nine years. She is a member of the Seattle University’s Board of Regents and the executive committee of that board. In addition, she is active in the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education and the Jesuit Advancement Association.
A native of St. Maries, Idaho, McFadden worked at the University of Idaho as associate director of alumni relations. She also spent 12 years in development at Washington State University, working in Pullman, Spokane and Seattle, Wash.
